An oak bookcase with coloured glass in the door panels, held in place by simple beads that stand proud of the door front. This little constructional technique adds interest to the plain door design but is strictly functional. This was a typical Arts and Crafts design ethos. The door pulls are American cast replicas of "mission" hardware, Gustav Stickley to be exact, while the hinges are of simple steel, left to rust, then cleaned and treated.
